Rebekah Nellore (Leonard) Huffman, 94, of West Liberty, Ohio, formerly of St. Paris, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 at 4:30 P.M. at the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty. She was born in Thackery, Champaign County, Ohio August 15, 1915, a daughter of the late Clay Ward and Nelly Ray Leonard.
On September 17, 1937, she married Robert Allen Huffman II and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Huffman III; a daughter, Lucinda Ann Zimmerman and a son-in-law, Paul Zimmerman.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebekah (Steve) Mast of Bellefontaine, Ohio; grandchildren, Richard (fiancé Laura) Mast of Dayton, Ohio, David (Laura) Mast of Findlay, Ohio, and Robert Allen (Tracy) Huffman IV of Bellefontaine; great-granddaughter, Rebekah Grace Mast; sisters, Ruthanna Garver of Urbana, Ohio, and Leah Lavy of Versailles, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
She was a former co-owner of Huffman, Inc., and formerly operated Becky-Nell’s Beauty Shop in St. Paris. She was a 1933 graduate of St. Paris Johnson High School and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine.
The graveside service will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 at 11 A.M., with Pastor Dan Hrach officiating at the Evergreen Cemetery in St. Paris. A memorial service will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11 A.M., with Pastor Rob Fulton and Gene Marine officiating.
