Reetha M. Lowe

Reetha Mae Lowe went to her heavenly home on February 28, 2025, one month shy of her 96th birthday. She was born on March 22, 1929, in Belle Center, Ohio, and was a resident of Logan County her entire life. Reetha experienced many losses in her life but never lost her Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Lowe, her daughter Linda who passed away at age 5, her adopted son Stevie, and several siblings.

Reetha was a life-long member of First Christian Church in Bellefontaine, where she especially enjoyed caring for the babies and toddlers in the nursery. In later years she also attended Hillcrest Baptist Church, participating in worship and Bible studies there.

As a member of the Master Gardener's Club, Reetha maintained beautiful flower gardens at her home in Bellefontaine. Among other endeavors, she served with the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild, and she traveled to Honduras where she joined her friends the Eicher family in their continuing work with an orphanage there. Reetha also enjoyed simple activities such as going with friends to the Farmer's Market and Marie's Candies, and walking her beloved dog "Rags."

Reetha will be very fondly remembered by special friends Gail and Ralph Vermillion; Teresa Beebe; Brenda Bartlett; and all the Eichers now of Millersburg, to whom she was like a member of the family. Her friends will always admire her resilience and positive attitude, her keen memory, and her kind heart. Reetha attributed her strength to her faith in God, which she said sustained her even as a child. She also expressed her gratitude for the caring staff at Logan Acres.

Pastor Kevin Greenwald will officiate Reetha’s graveside service on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 1pm at Huntsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office BEHIND THE BADGE Volunteers, Inc., 284 County Road 32 South, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311, for the new animal shelter.
