Renee’ Christine Maxwell, 41, of Belle Center, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at her home.
I was born at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton on May 26, 1978, and grew up in Zanesfield. I attended Benjamin Logan High School and went on to graduate from Ohio State School of Cosmetology, this led me to a highly rewarding career where I met and had many beautiful friendships throughout my 21-year career. I always joked with my husband that if I could write a book it would be full of very happy to crazy to sad stories that my clients would share with me.
I was preceded in death by my loving brother, Dodd W. Walls, and my mother-in-law Melinda K. Maxwell.
I am survived by my beloved husband, Owen J. Maxwell, and our three children: our beautiful daughter Maya J. Maxwell, and our handsome sons: Roman J. Maxwell and Lukas J. Maxwell; my parents Keith D. and Beverly J. (Dodds) Walls, of Zanesfield; my older brother Joseph S. Walls and his wife Emily, of Zanesfield; my nieces: Ashley (Chris) Fortner, Taylin Serfoss, Autumn Walls, and Annabella Walls. I will also miss my sister-in-law Kara L. Maxwell, my father-in-law Donald L. Maxwell, and several aunts and uncles, and friends too numerous to mention.
I met Owen Maxwell while working at Me & Company in February 2002. We went on to get married in Gatlinburg, TN on December 14, 2002. I love you. Thank you for all the laughter and love, and for standing by me to the end. Maya, Roman, and Lukas – I love you all so much. I know and wish you the all the best things in your life. May you, every day, connect with your brilliancy of your own spirit and with God in your heart, know that “All things are possible.” And may you always remember that obstacles in your path are not obstacles, they are part of the path.
I was given the gift of life, and now the time has come for me to be called to my Heavenly home. This is the hardest part. But I was a lucky woman, who led a lucky life, and for this I am grateful.
I first got sick on January 10, 2018, when the cancer recurred a year later it was terminal. I decided to be joyful and thankful about how I had a blessed life, rather than be sad about having to die (this helped me some of the time). I meditated and got closer to God, which helped me accept what I could not change. At any rate, I am at peace. But on the lighter side, I am taking with me lots of precious memories.
My beloved Owen, Maya, Roman, and Lukas, my beloved friends and family – how precious you all have been to me. Knowing and loving each of you was the success story of my life. We will meet again, joyfully, in a beautiful place. Have a beautiful day, I was blessed to have been here.
My friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, on Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 4-7pm. My Celebration of Life service will be on Friday, June 14, at the funeral home at 10:30am. I will be buried in Zanesfield Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to my family for a scholarship fund that will be set up to further cancer research.
