Richard Cayot

Richard “Dick” Glen Cayot, 75, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went to meet his maker Monday, November 7, 2011 at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He was born February 13, 1936 in Wells County, Indiana, to the late Roy and Martha (Huebner) Cayot.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline and children, Kathy, Mike (Ann), Linda (Gary), Steve (Kim), Yvonne (Jeff), Clark (Tara); step-children, Art (Bonny) Taylor and Christine Taylor; grandchildren, Brandi, Nicholas, Rachel, Lauren, Neil, Trent, Taylor, Abbi, Tori, Alex, Lucas, Savannah, Jordan and Makayla and 1 great grandchild who were loved very much.

He was preceded in death by brothers Harold, Eugene, Manford and his sisters, Mildred and Kathleen.

Richard worked at International Harvester/NAVISTAR in Springfield for 36 ½ years, retiring in 1991. After he retired, he was active in several civic organizations. He was a long time member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, where he served on the board. He also served on the Drug and Alcohol Board along with several other boards around the community. Richard loved the Scouts and was Past President of International National Scout Organization. He loved to travel and visit historical sites and also enjoyed all sports, especially football. He enjoyed his grandchildren and working in the yard and gardening.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Calling hours are Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Father Patrick L. Sheridan will celebrate a 10:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, November 11, 2011 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
