Richard Allen Garrison, age 74, of Belle Center, Ohio passed away at 11:49 P.M. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio January 13, 1943, the son of late Leslie and Goldie Tess (Swank) Garrison. He was also preceded in death by eight siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Debra (Snow) Garrison; two sons, Stephen Garrison of Columbus and David Garrison of Lakeview, Ohio; two daughters, Cheryl (Jesse) Daniels of Lakeview and Kimberly Garrison of Lakeview/Cincinnati; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Charlyne Sloan of Washington state; a brother, Donald Garrison of Mt. Victory, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Samantha.
Richard was an United States Army Veteran and worked for Super Foods up until his retirement in 1998. He also served as a police officer for Stokes Township for twenty five years and was the Police Chief for a number of those years. He also loved to fish and spend time with his family at their cabin in Canada. He was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #3615 of Indian Lake.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be held three hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the funeral service at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran's Honor Guard.
The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
