Richard Orman Hamilton

Richard Orman Hamilton, age 78, of West Liberty, Ohio passed away at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty.

He was born in Nelsonville, Ohio (Athens County) August 14, 1942, a son of the late Virgil and Alice (Courtney) Hamilton.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers and two infant siblings.

On October 29, 1967, he married Rebecca Louise “Becky” (Broshes) Hamilton at the United Methodist Church in West Liberty, and she survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Cherie (Virgil) Squires and Jenny (Chad) Heater, both of West Liberty, five grandchildren, Brandy (William) Young, Colin DeLong, David (Alexis) Young, Michelle (William) Young, and Leah Borst; five great grandchildren, Isaac, David, Dax, Becca, Ivy and one on the way; a half sister, Cindy Hamilton and many nieces and nephews.

Richard worked as a factory worker for thirty plus years.  He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, hunting, fishing and camping.  He enjoyed being around his family, especially his grandchildren.  He also loved his church and music and loved to sing church hymns.

A private graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
