After a lengthy illness, Richard Lee Parmer, Sr., 67, of West Mansfield, Ohio, passed away at his residence Tuesday, July 20, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born October 20, 1942 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late Robert Jr. and Lois (Duncan) Parmer.
On July 31, 1965, he married Pam Armstrong in Lakeview, Ohio, and she survives along with their children, Robin Kay (Dale) Holycross of West Mansfield, Richard Lee Parmer, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Matthew James Parmer of Dayton, Ohio, and Steven Andrew Parmer of West Mansfield. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Parmer of Xenia, Ohio, and Glen (Beverly) Parmer of Huntsville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlin, Jacob, Robin, and Nigel; and two great grandchildren, Gaidge and Hendrix.
An electrician, Richard worked for Bulldog, D.A.B., BCC and Dale Holycross. He graduated in 1961 from Bellefontaine High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
The staff at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine handled the arrangements. A private burial will be held at a later date.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
