Richard Short
Richard L. Short, formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio and The Gables in Marysville, Ohio, passed away Monday March 4, 2013 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born November 27, 1928 in Champaign County, to the late Arthur and Bertha (Fry) Short.
On February 5, 1950, he married the former Dorothy Mae Kilgore in Rushsylvania, Ohio and she preceded him in death October 19, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Short, and his brothers, Wilbur and William Short.
Surviving are his children, Doug (Jan) Short of Marysville and Joyce (Leroy) Peters of Moore, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Heather Gayle (Robert) Kalkbrenner, Kevin (Amanda) Peters and Lindsey and Braden Short, and a great grandchild, Myriah Kalkbrenner.
A member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine, Richard loved to camp, fly model airplanes and was a Cincinnati Reds fan.
Pastor F. Michael Valentine will officiate the 10:30 A.M. funeral service Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2013. Interment will be at the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
