Richard Allen “Rick” Sickles, 68, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away of natural causes Thursday, April 11, 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri doing what he loved – driving truck.

He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio January 23, 1945, to the late Roy Earle and E. Eileene (Claybaugh) Sickles. He was also preceded in death by a brother Larry E. Sickles; two nephews, Brian Price and Scott Sickles; a niece, LuCinda Price, and his father-in-law, Jack Beuschlein.

Pastor Beverly Ann Daniels wed Rick to the former Dianne Beuschlein in September of 1981 in Lakeview, Ohio and she survives in Belle Center. He is also survived by brothers Norman Sickles of Bellefontaine and Craig (Sue) Sickles of Belle Center; a sister, Brenda (James) Donegan of Marion, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Ruth Sickles of Belle Center; an aunt, Rita (Robert) Smith of Belle Center; his mother-in-law, Marie Beuschlein of Lakeview; sisters-in-law Sandi Short of DeGraff, Ohio and Debbie Beuschlein and her son Derek of Lakeview; a brother-in-law, Jack (Cindy) Beuschlein of Lewistown, Ohio; step-children, Andy Sheets of Lima, Ohio, Alfred (Jonica) Lowery of Alger, Ohio, Angela Lowery and Kish of Kettlersville, Ohio, A. J. Lowery of Lima, Adam (Michele) Lowery of Kenton, Ohio; grandchildren, Justin, Jessie, Megan, Aspen, Nevaeh, Caiden, Cheyanne, Jazlyn, Destiny and many special nieces and nephews.

A 1963 graduate of Belle Center High School, Rick was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Viet Nam conflict where he was Gen. Westmoreland’s personal driver. He was currently employed with Cheeseman Trucking as an over-the-road truck driver and had worked ten years for Rockwell in Kenton, Ohio. Rick was a life-member of AmVets Post #39 and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Calling hours are Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center from 1 to 6 P.M. followed by a 6 P.M. funeral service conducted by Pastor Mike Phillips.
