Richard Vanover

Richard Howard Vanover, 57, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 11:51 A.M. Friday, March 16, 2012 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born April 15, 1954 in Rapid City, South Dakota, a son of the late Estil and Dorothy (LeMaster) Bates Vanover. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Barber.

He married the former Sharon Brown and they later divorced.

Survivors include sons, Adam (Stacy Powers) Vanover and Aron “Smike” Vanover both of Bellefontaine; granddaughters, Lilandra Maysun and Annica Rahne Vanover; his step-father, Henry Bates of Bellefontaine; a brother, Mike (Carolyn) Vanover of Bellefontaine, and his brother-in-law, Bob Barber of Bluefield, West Virginia.

He was an United States Army Veteran of Vietnam and a graduate of Bellefontaine High School. Richard and his brother enjoyed restoring muscle cars. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, collecting comic books and Beanie babies and was an Elvis enthusiast.

A graveside service will be held at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10 A.M., with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating.
