Robert A. Benshoff, 70, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. He was born May 4, 1939 in Belle Center, Ohio, to the late Robert and Imogene B. (Shroyer) Benchoff.
Surviving is his wife, Janice M. (Nelson) Benshoff, whom he married October 15, 1994 in Bellefontaine. Also surviving is a son, Robert A. (Laura) Benshoff, II of Sidney,Ohio; step-sons, Keith (Dawne) Brooks of Columbus, Ohio, Greg (Jamie) Zedeker of Dunkerton, Iowa, and Rick (Tara) Zedeker of Bellefontaine; a brother Harry L. (Paula) Benshoff of Sidney, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Robert III, Nick, Mackenzie, Kitty, Madilynn and Jaden.
Preceding him in death was a daughter, Robbin Benshoff in December of 1999 and a sister, Patricia Burns.
Bob worked for the Union Carpenter Local #372 in Lima, Ohio and retired in 2000. He was a United States Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post #173, the Elks #132, a life member of the Am Vets #105.
Calling hours are Monday, April 26, 2010 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, where Rev. A. W. Purdin will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
