Robert "Bob" E. Major

Robert "Bob" E. Major, 64, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at 8:28 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his home. He was born in Mason, West Virginia on September 13, 1958, a son of the late Martin and Ruby (Lee) Major.

On June 5, 1998, Bob married Diane (Fisher) Major in Bellefontaine, Ohio and she survives. He is also survived by his three children, Jason (Ashley) Major of West Liberty, Steven (Kathy) Major of Ripley, West Virginia, and Kristie (Troy Boggs) Major of Urbana; a stepson, Ray Ferguson of Huntsville; six grandchildren, Quinnton, Hank, Landon, Eli, Bailey, and Zaylynn; two sisters, Janet Bland of Huntsville, and Sherry Prater of Russells Point. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three sisters, Shelia Little, Angie Little, and Judy Horne; and a brother Martin “Buzz” Major.

Bob had worked in construction until his early retirement. He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, riding four wheelers and his side by side, and watching Ohio State football. He most especially loved spending time with family and playing with his grandkids.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street in Bellefontaine, where Gary Shepherd will lead a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
