Robert E. “Bob” Crockett, 81, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 11:10 A.M. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Campbell House in Bellefontaine.
He was born in Green Castle, Indiana November 29, 1932, to the late John and Lora Mae (Tedder) Crockett. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Crockett.
On December 31, 1956, he married the former Lanetta Hollstein in Angola, Indiana and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons David (Sherri) Crockett of Bellefontaine and Darrell (Kris) Crockett of Lewistown, Ohio; four grandchildren, Andrew, Nickolas, Kurttis and Kassidy Crockett; a brother, Paul Crockett of Marysville, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Sandra Siegel of Michigan and Keith and Gay Hollstein of Tennessee, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A farmer, Robert was a 1952 graduate of Florence-Edon High School. He served in the United States Army from August 24, 1954 to August 15, 1956, during which time he earned the Army of Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Charles R. Collins Post #381 American Legion in Huntsville, Ohio. Robert enjoyed attending auctions and watching his grandkids play sports.
Pastor Kenn Barton will officiate the funeral service at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3 to 6 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio with military rites by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
