Robert E. Ellison Sr., age 80, of Quincy, Ohio, passed away at 8:01 P.M. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
He was born in Middleburg, Kentucky April 5, 1934, to the late John and Louise (Bolton) Ellison. He was also preceded in death by two sons Jerald and Robert Ellison; a sister, Betty Moore; and four brothers Bill, Ed, Pete and Fred Ellison.
On December 11, 1954, he married the former Magdalene R. Robinson and she survives. He is also survived by two sons John (Wanda) Ellison and Ray Ellison, both of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Barbara, John R., Shannon, Shauna, Nikki, Renee and Jessie; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Rightler of Tennessee and Shirley (Jack) McGee of Baltimore, Maryland, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Robert retired from Copeland where he had worked in maintenance. He also owned Ellison’s Welding and enjoyed working on cars, fishing and hunting.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Quincy.
The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
