Robert L. “Bob” Henry, age 81, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, at his home.
He was born September 18, 1932, in Logan County Ohio, a son of the late William H. and Anna Marie (Sine) Henry. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Henry and a brother, William Henry; his step-mother, Kathryn (Sever) Henry and step-brother, Richard Sever.
On December 20, 1953, he married the former Nancy J. Barker and she survives along with their children, Robert (Lana) Henry Jr. of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Diantha Jane (Mark) Huffman, and James (Sherry) Henry, both of Bellefontaine, Coleen (Douglas) Reprogle of Huntsville, Ohio; grandchildren, Chelsea (Ray) Meals, Bracken Henry, Joshua (Chrissy) Huffman, Jeth (Misty) Huffman, Craig (Lyndsey) Henry, Jaime (Rob) Yelton, Jordanne Henry, Elisa (Cameron) Klump, Erica (Stephan) James, Tyler and Tatum Reprogle; twelve great grandchildren and two more due in December; a sister, Betty (Dan) Fultz, of Bellefontaine; brothers, Burl (Kathy) Henry of Bellefontaine, and Keith (Ida) Henry of West Mansfield, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
After graduating from the Bellefontaine High School in 1950, he served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He retired after eighteen years as an electrician with Westinghouse Corporation and worked at Comdyne in West Liberty, Ohio. He also refereed baseball, football, basketball and volleyball in Logan County and elsewhere around Ohio.
A member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine, he served on the Board of Trustees, and taught Sunday school. During his twelve trips to camps in Puerto Rico doing mission work, he helped build churches by doing electrical work.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Pastors C. J. Plogger and Ray Headings will conduct the funeral service Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 11 A.M. at the First Church of God in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio with military rites by the Logan County Honor Guard.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
