Robert Paul Holderman was born January 6th, 1940, and passed away at home surrounded by his family on October 6th, 2024, at the age of 84. He was the son of Kathryn Lackey and Paul Francis (Mary Jane) Holderman.
Bob is survived by his wife Sharon Holderman (Geboy), whom he married in June of 1961. As of 2024, they have been married 63 years. He is also survived by his two children: Teresa (John Bradford) Sager and Paul Francis Holderman, who reside in Athens, Ohio; grandchildren: Travis Sager of Athens, Ohio and Shannon Sager (Richard Jordan Hankins) of West Jefferson, Ohio; great grandchildren: Cody and Antonia Hankins; sisters: Sandra Hodges of Houston, Texas, Roxanne (John) Tackett of Powell, Ohio and Colleen Ray, Springboro, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Debbie (Joe) Tomba.
Bob was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army, Active and Reserve Duty from 1959-1964. Bob retired as a Police Sergeant from the Bellefontaine Police Department after serving 32 years of public service at the age of 52. He had 30 plus yrs. of adventures in Florida and the Northern Peninsula of Michigan. Bob was an avid jokester, loving grandfather, talented woodcarver and found mushrooms where no one else could. After retirement he promoted the art of woodcarving as the founder of the Peace River Woodcarvers of Arcadia Florida. He taught weekly classes at the Logan County Senior Center.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Bellefontaine Church of Christ in Christian Union, 1669 County Road 11, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311, where Pastor Michael Phillips will officiate a service at 1:00 p.m. Visiting hours will follow the service until 3:00 p.m.
