Robert Lee Shields

Robert Lee “Bob” Shields, 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 1:56 a.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. He was born on April 4, 1938, a son of the late John Richard Shields and Mary Ruthella (Vermillion) Dunlap. In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Wannetta Shields; stepfather, Floyd Dunlap; daughter, Peggy Titus; and a sister, Doris Parmer.

On December 31, 1956, Bob married the former Thanna Marie Newman in Kenton, Ohio and she survives, along with their daughter, Brenda (Kenny) Jones; six grandchildren, Bob (Karly) Titus, Jon (Ashley) Shields, Doug (Robin) Titus, Michael David, Amanda (Chris) Stine, and Kati Stine; nine great grandchildren, Ethan, Bobby, Daulton, Allie, MacKenzie, Zoe, Mason, Maddy and Harper; three great great grandchildren, Janel, Felicity, and Katherine; four sisters, Marsha (Jim) Bottorff, Cathy (Steve) Waitman, Charlene Dunlap, and Dana Dunlap; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob retired from Rockwell International in Kenton following 13 ½ years of service. He was a member of the Logan County Senior Center’s Carving Class and enjoyed classic cars, riding motorcycles, and calling square dances.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
