Robert S. “Scotty” Stevenson, 96, of DeGraff, passed away Friday afternoon, December 29, 2023, at Indian Lake Rehab.
Scotty was born in Bellefontaine on June 10, 1927, to the late Gail Price and Beula Lee (Lyons) Stevenson. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Charles, Lawrence, and Wayne Stevenson; 3 sisters: Bertha Cronkleton, Doris Sullivan, and Frances Stevenson; a son Richard Stevenson; and daughter-in-law Shelly Stevenson.
Scotty married Kathleen Buckingham on January 27, 1945, in Newport, Kentucky, and she survives in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by children: Wendell (Alice) Stevenson of Wadsworth, Illinois, Ed Stevenson of Quincy, Sandra (Rick) Adams of DeGraff, and Annette Stevenson of LaBelle, Florida; daughter-in-law Linda Stevenson of West Liberty; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Scotty was the owner and operator of Scotty’s Auto Wrecking and Liberty Auto Wrecking for many years. He was an avid racer at Shady Bowl and was a member of several antique tractor clubs.
There will be no public services for Scotty, a private family burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty, at a later date.
