Robert Irvin Scott

Robert Irvin Scott, 84, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, in Ayden Health Care of Belle Springs, Bellefontaine.

He was born in Mount Victory, Ohio on March 13, 1940, the son of the late Charles A. and Freida E. (McGinnis) Scott.

On March 15, 1969, he married Arretta Louise (Breaston) Scott in Bellefontaine, and she survives.

He is also survived by a son, Robert P. Scott and a daughter, Sheena Johnson, six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William “Merideth” Story and a brother, Frederic Scott.

Robert was a graduate of Belle Center High School and went on to serve is country in the U.S. Army Reserve, before going to work for Navistar in Springfield, Ohio where he worked 35 years before his retirement. He enjoyed collecting coins, riding motorcycles and cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers.

Visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio. There is no formal service planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
