Robert Vernon Sr

Robert T. Vernon Sr., 63, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born July 15, 1948 in Bellefontaine, to the late Howard L. and Geraldine (Muth) Vernon.

On August 28, 1970, he married Sandra L. LeVan in Bellefontaine, and she survives along with a son, Robert T. (Amy) Vernon Jr. of Sidney, Ohio; three daughters, Heidi Myers of Bellefontaine, Stacy (Travis Bryant) Phelps of Sidney and Aimee (Michael Hempker) Vernon of Bellefontaine; his siblings, Howard “Frog” (Diane) Vernon of Belle Center, Ohio and Helen (Dave) Huffman of Bellefontaine; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A son, Rodney E. Vernon, and brothers, James and Dale Vernon, preceded him in death.

A Navy veteran serving in Vietnam, Robert was a construction and factory worker. He was a member of the Indian Lake Eagles #3615, Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, Indian Lake AMVETS and the Bellefontaine V.F.W. Post #1080.

Pastor Floyd Lundy will conduct the 5:00 P.M. funeral service Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with a military service conducted by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Bellefontaine Cemetery at a later date.
