Robert S. Wampler, 67, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
He was born in Bellefontaine April 23, 1946, to the late Chalmer D. Wampler and Katherine (Reynolds) Shirk who survives in Bellefontaine.
On February 24 1964, he married the former Karan Baker in Bellefontaine and she survives along with a son, James (Jonnie) Wampler of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Michael, Katline and Becka Wampler; his siblings, Beverly (Steve) Pence of Land O Lakes, Florida and Russell (Nancy) Wampler of Marysville, Ohio.
Robert worked for Miller Meteor in Piqua, Ohio and H.K. Porter in Bellefontaine.
A United States Army Veteran, Robert was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union and a former member of the Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. #209. He enjoyed fishing, building model airplanes and took pride in remodeling projects at home especially his basement.
Pastor Brad Angus will officiate the 1:00 P.M. funeral service at the Church of Christ in Christian Union Friday, March 7, 2014, where friends may call from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine handled the arrangements.
