Robert Earl Weller, age 90, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, May 19, 2014 at his home.
He was born in West Liberty, Ohio May 30, 1923, to the late Don E. and Myrtle (Holycross) Weller. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Weller January 4, 1963; a daughter, Debbie Weller Benedict March 23, 2004; a sister, Ruth Weller Reidel and her husband John; a sister-in-law, Phyllis and her husband Don Baker, and a sister-in-law, Peggy Seaton.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary (Jenkins) Weller whom he married January 20, 1952, in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Suzan Weller of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Kristen (Wesley) Underwood, Heather (Dan) Storm and Brandon Bailey; seven great-grandchildren, Mykah, Laylah, Aliviah, Kaylie, Brileigh, Zalaney and Riggs; one grand-dog Duke, and several special nieces and nephews.
A 1942 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Bob was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he served six years during World War II. He worked twenty years at Hopewell Dairy and later retired from Super Foods in 1988. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine and a member of Bellefontaine Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge #209.
Pastor Ed Beale and Gene Marine will conduct a memorial service Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 1 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
