Rodney ‘Rod’ Eugene Cook, 54, of East Liberty passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 in his home.
He was born in Marysville, Ohio on March 25, 1962 the son of the late Nelson Leroy Cook (2003) and Carol (Coons) Cook, who survives in East Liberty.
He is also survived by his wife, Julia (Armentrout) Cook of East Liberty, a son, Rick (Stacie) Cook of Kenton, a step son, Chad (Jennifer) Stratton of Florida, a step daughter, Nicole (Rob) Erwin of Mechanicsburg, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, Teresa (Tim) Rausch of West Mansfield, three brothers; Terry (Rhonda) Cook and Dave (Margie) Cook, both of East Liberty and John (Jennifer) Cook of Marysville, a sister in law, Diana Coons of West Mansfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Coons in 2011.
Rod owned and operated Rod Cook Construction and just enjoyed working with his hands and building things. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Bellefontaine and loved his church family. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom picking and just being outdoors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, whether it was hanging out with his grandkids or enjoying a walk with his wife.
Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a funeral service on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1140 Rush Ave, Bellefontaine, Ohio. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine assisted the family with arrangements.
