Roger L. Hough, age 77, passed peacefully in his home Thursday, December 4, 2014. He was born August 8, 1937 in Wilmington to the late Carl and Mildred Hough. His family moved to Huntsville, OH in 1947 where he attended school, played sports, and made many friends. Roger graduated from Huntsville Schools in 1956, and in 1960 was drafted into the U.S. Army and spent part of his service in Korea.
In 1961 Roger married Martha Oglesbee, his loving wife of 53 years. He is survived by his wife; son, Brian (Jane) Hough of Lewistown; daughter, Holly (Andy) Zweizig of Marysville; grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, and Maggie Zweizig, Elle and Garrett Hough; and many family members and friends.
Roger's life work was farming which he later shared with his son, Brian. He enjoyed many athletic activities in his early years and later became an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching college sports, especially OSU football and basketball. Roger and Martha were members of the Marathon Bridge Club of Logan County and spent many happy winters in Florida golfing and playing cards with family and friends. He served on the Washington Township Board of Zoning Appeals for many years.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home at 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 10:30am at the same location with Rev. Kenn Barton officiating. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.
