Roger Phillip Neer

Roger “Phil” Phillip Neer, age 64, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his home. He was born in Bellefontaine August 4, 1953, to the late Charles Neer and Thelma (Huffman) Neer.  Roger was also preceded in death by a brother Allen Huffman.

Roger is survived by his children, Melissa (Rich) Reynolds of Rushsylvania, Ohio, Mitchell Cheadle of Arcanum, Ohio, Matthew Cheadle of Bellefontaine, and Mackenzie Neer of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Gage (Elise) Yeager, Allissa Yeager, Porter Cheadle, and Zelda Morgan; four great-grandchildren, Simon, Richard, Samuel, and Truett; a sister, Cynthia (Scott) Brown of Anderson, South Carolina; a nephew, Wesley A. Harrington of Wilmington, North Carolina and a niece Kellie A. Epps of Anderson, South Carolina.

Roger was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of the Bellefontaine VFW and the American Legion. In his younger years, Roger spent time doing car restorations. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Roger also loved his dogs Rusty and Reece and his cat Bubba.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the back room of the Bellefontaine VFW in Bellefontaine.

The arrangements are under the direction of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
