Roger A. Shaw, 94, of Rushsylvania, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 23, 2012 at 9:15 P.M. at Logan Acres Nursing Home in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
He was born September 24, 1917 in Rushcreek Township in Logan County, Ohio, a son of the late William Abner and Lulu Mary (Miller) Shaw. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Caldwell; brothers, Theron, Willard, Melvin, Robert and Wilbur Shaw; a brother-in-law, Art Caldwell and sister-in-laws, Alma & Emma Shaw.
On August 19, 1949, he married the former Audra Irene Reinhart and she survives along with sister-in-laws, Goldie, Avonelle and Helen Shaw and several nieces and nephews.
Roger served in the United States Army until 1945 and then came home to work for H.G. Short, MacGillvary Motors and Anderson Ford where he retired as an auto mechanic.
He was also a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine.
Pastor Jeffory Willetts will conduct the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Miami Cemetery in Rushsylvania with military rites by the Logan County Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Logan Acres Nursing Home Pet Fund, the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s choice.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
