Ronald S. Sarson, 94, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty.
He was born July 30, 1918 in Stockport, England, a son of the late Harry S. and Ellen (Dove) Sarson.
On October 1, 1941 in Dubuque, Iowa, he married Ora A. (Chewning) Sarson and she preceded him in death July 7, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a son, John Stephen Sarson June 26, 2009 and a son-in-law, Jerry Wappelhorst May 7, 2009.
Ronald was a World War II Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and enjoyed stamp collecting, photography and spending time with his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Carol Wappelhorst of Bellefontaine, Ohio; grandchildren, Keely (Steve Titus) Blair and Eric Wappelhorst, both of Bellefontaine, Ryan (Angela) Sarson of Piqua, Ohio, Brad Sarson of Huber Heights, and great-grandchildren, Zach and Jesse Titus, Drake Robinson, Cooper Wemmer, Adeyn, Hunter and Madison Sarson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Church of the Epiphany in Urbana, Ohio officiated by Revs. Robert L. Ficks III, Tim West and Nancy Hardin. Inurnment will take place at the St. John’s Episcopal Church Columbarium in Dubuque, Iowa at a later date.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
