Rosella M. “Sally” Ware, 93, of Lakeview passed away Saturday afternoon, March 28, 2015 at her son’s home in Maplewood. She was born in Shelby County on January 10, 1922 to the late George and Bertha (Behr) Platfoot. Sally was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Barhorst on June 1, 1957 and her second husband Chet Ware on December 24, 1982. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Susan Barhorst, sons Russell Barhorst and Dale Barhorst, brothers Orville Platfoot, Herbert Platfoot, Robert Platfoot, Raymond Platfoot, and sisters Agnes Kloeppert, Mary Platfoot, Jeannie Billing, Ester Scheer, and Isabell Platfoot.

Sally went to school as a child in McCartyville and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in McCartyville. She worked many years at Goodyear Rubber in St. Mary’s before retiring due to disability. Sally was a member of the VFW and AmVets and enjoyed fishing.

Sally is survived by her sons, Jack (Beth) Barhorst of Maplewood and David (Bonnie) Barhorst of Lakeview; step-son Jerry Ware of Jackson Center; step-daughter Janice (Jack) Richardson of Jackson Center; six grandchildren: Eric Barhorst, Leslie Teets, Cedric Barhorst, Missy Baker, Gretchen Kencade, Shannon Barhorst; 9 step-grandchildren: Jody Keith, Lori Huffer, Darcey Steinke, Stacey Larson, Kelly Bensman, Jace Richardson, Ryan Roser, James Roser and Angie Roser; 11 great-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers Norbert Platfoot and Norman Platfoot and sisters Irene Heater and Lucille Scheer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Jackson Center on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 4-7pm. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 10am – 11:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McCartyville followed by a graveside service at 11:30 in Sacred Heart Cemetery, McCartyville with Fr. John Tonkin officiating.
