Rosena Wesser

Rosena M. “Roz” Wesser, 84, of DeGraff, Ohio, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Zanesfield, Ohio September 11, 1929, to the late Everett and Cecil (Pash) Van Voorhis.

On June 12, 1948, she married Claude Edward Wesser in Huntsville, Ohio and he preceded her in death October 3, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Deal and two brothers, LeRoy and John Van Voorhis.

Surviving are her children, Linda L. (Chris) Yoest of DeGraff, Nancy L. (Russ) Dillon of Coldwater, Michigan and Claude J. Wesser of Lakeview, Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley and Brandon (Crystal) Dillon, Dakota Yoest, Brittney, Brianna and Richard Neilsen III; three great grandchildren, Teagan, Cash and Cruz; a sister, Everetta Titus of Bellefontaine; brothers, Robert Van Voorhis of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Philip (Imogene) Van Voorhis of Bellefontaine, Charles (Annette) Van Voorhis of Cardington, Ohio, Karl Van Voorhis, Watertown, New York, Arthur Van Voorhis of Kenton, Ohio and Jeffrey (Cheryl) Van Voorhis of Marion, Ohio, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roz graduated from Bellefontaine High School and and was the “official” historian for the Class of 1948. For many years she was a Cub Scout Leader and was a member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine. Roz was a Lab Assistant at Mary Rutan Hospital for twenty nine years. She organized and put on the Van Voorhis Round Up Family Reunion for over twenty five years. Roz loved to make baby blankets and quilts and had made over 100 of them. She also was a collector of many items, especially photos.

Gene Marine will officiate the 1:00 P.M. service Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
