Ruby C. Byler, 94, of West Liberty, passed away Sunday morning, May 22, 2016, at Green Hills Inn. She was born in Logan County on July 17, 1921 to the late Freeman Henry and Nellie Salome (Detweiler) Fisher.
Ruby married Roy H. Byler on October 19, 1947 in West Liberty and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2013. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kay Regier; and brothers, Lloyd Fisher, Dale Fisher and Joe Fisher.
Ruby was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in West Liberty. She retired from teaching after many years with the West Liberty Salem Schools. Ruby and Roy enjoyed traveling, having visited all 50 states, Europe, South America and Israel. They also spent 11 years assisting in voluntary services in Brownsville, Texas.
Ruby is survived by her children, Richard (Penny) Byler of Greenville, Mississippi, Daniel Byler of Bangkok, Thailand, Rose (Don) Rosanova of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Deborah Byler of Elkhart, Indiana and David Byler of Sandstone, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Carl Fisher of Boswell, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alvin Yoder will officiate a memorial service on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11am at the Bethel Mennonite Church, 416 Washington Street, West Liberty. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty. A private committal service will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty at the convenience of the family.
