Russel Millisor

Biography

Russel D. Millisor, 80, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, August 31, 2013, at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.

He was born in LaRue, Ohio November 8, 1932, to the late Willis and Willa (Fields) Millisor. He was also preceded in death by a son Daniel Millisor in 1987; brothers Robert, Darrel, John, Junior, Irven, Ralph, Dick and Norman Millisor, and a sister, Betty Anshutz.

Russel married Nancy Smith November 27, 1957 in the Belle Center United Methodist Church, and she survives in Belle Center. He is also survived by daughters Jean Ann Millisor of Westerville, Ohio, Deb (Brian) Thompson of Belle Center and Julie Smith of Marysville, Ohio; a grandson, Logan Conley and a granddaughter, Tyler Smith; step-grandchildren Derek (Linda) Thompson and Jennifer Thompson; step-great-granddaughters Gabby and Lili Thompson; a brother, Ronald “Jack” Millisor of Marion, Ohio; sisters-in-laws Vivian Millisor of Belle Center, Eva Millisor of Marion and Sue Millisor of Ft. Myers, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Russel was a 1950 graduate of LaRue High School and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio Northern University and his Masters of Education from Wright State University. He taught and coached in Huntsville, Ohio and Belle Center. He was the principal for Bellefontaine Middle School for many years and was Assistant to the Superintendent of Bellefontaine Schools, before retiring in 1988.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was a charter member of the BMRT Rescue Squad. Russel was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 4 to 8 P.M. Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate the funeral service Thursday, September 5, 2013, at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
