Russell H. “Rusty” Jenkins, 55, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He was born in San Diego October 2, 1953, a son of the late George Thomas and Rose Lellet Jenkins. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Jenkins.

On May 24, 2001, he married the former Deb Yelton in Bellefontaine and she survives, along with two sons, Brad (Darcie) Jenkins of DeGraff, Ohio, and Jacob (Kendra) Jenkins of Hilliard, Ohio; stepson, Jeff (Brandi Woods) Clifton of West Liberty, Ohio; three daughters, Windy Gore of Conneaut, Cynthia Lancar of Ebeye, Marshall Islands, and Jackie (Darrell) Norris of West Liberty; two stepdaughters, Tracy Sipe of Douglasville, Georgia, and Amy (Scott) Grubbs of Bellefontaine; four brothers, T.J. (Faith) Jenkins of Ghana, Africa, Michael Jenkins of Columbus, Tim (Louise) Jenkins of Honolulu and Stuart (Tamara) Jenkins of Bellefontaine; five sisters, Celie Kabua of West Liberty, Joyce (Woodie) Bridges of Indianapolis, Linda (Ken) Harford of DeGraff, Cindy (Keith) Gildow of Bellefontaine and Vicky (David) Macer of St. Peters, Mo.; and 17 grandchildren.

A civil engineer for Kada Company in the Marshall Islands, he attended the New Beginnings Church in DeGraff and was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge.

Rev. Jerry Allen conducts the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009. Burial is in the Huntsville Cemetery.
