Ruth Banta

Ruth Marian Banta, 94, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away in her sleep Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013.

She was born in Freeport, Ohio March 16, 1919, to the late Seth L. and Lena Belle (Cummins) Snyder. She moved to the Belle Center area as a young child and later married Omer W. Banta July 14, 1940 in Belle Center and he preceded her in death March 2, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joyce Banta.

Marian is survived by her children, Ron Banta of Belle Center, Roger (Drema) Banta of Cincinnati, Ohio and Linda (David) Rinderknecht of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

A 1937 graduate of Belle Center High School, Marian was a homemaker and taught piano for nearly fifty years. She was an active member of the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church.

Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center Friday, May 3, 2013 from 3 to 5 P.M. and 6:30 to 8 P.M. Rev. Jim Burton will officiate the funeral service Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 10 A.M. at the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
