Ruth Doty

Ruth Elizabeth Doty, 88, of Belle Center passed away Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 at her home.

Ruth was born in Belle Center on January 22, 1928 to the late Edward C. and Ethel V. (Reed) Newman. She married Carroll James Doty on October 17, 1959 in Bloomingdale, IL and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2013.

Ruth is survived by her children: Marian (Vern) Ratcliff of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mark (Tonda) Doty of Rock Hill, SC, Joanne (Bill) Childers and Julie (Jay) Miller, both of Belle Center; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a sister Julia Comer of Belle Center; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A 1946 graduate of Belle Center High School, Ruth also graduated from Moody Bible Institute. She worked many years as a secretary at Belle Center Air Tool. Ruth loved to sew and work on crafts. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth was a member of Belle Center Church of Christ.

Pastor John Watkins will officiate a 1:00pm service on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring and Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center where friends may call from 11am – 1pm prior to the service. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
