Ruth Gladys Elliott, 95, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008, at the Green Hills Retirement Center in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born in Logan County April 4, 1913, a daughter of the late George and Lenna Shafer Swonger. On September 27, 1934, she married Carl Elliott in Richmond, Indiana, and he preceded her in death May 21, 1970. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Swonger; a sister, Mildred Eley; and a grandchild, Gloria Elliott.
Survivors include a son, George (Barbara) Elliott of Naples, Florida.; a daughter, Janet (Byron) Fullerton of Belle Center, Ohio; four grandchildren, Karen Ricketts, Mark Fullerton and Gary and Greg Elliott; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a great-step-grandchild; and a great-great-step-grandchild.
A 1932 Washington High School graduate, she was a sales clerk at Jamison’s Drug Store from 1971 to 1984. She was a member of Senior Citizens Group I, and a former member of the First United Presbyterian Church.
Gene Marine conducts the graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008, at the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
