Ruth Ella Engelhaupt

Ruth Ella Engelhaupt, age 89, passed away peacefully Monday, October 25, 2021, at Campbell Place in Bellefontaine.

Ruth was born on January 17,1932, the daughter of Clarence and Frances (Moore) Wise.  She was the devoted wife of Don for 72 years who preceded her to their final resting place.  Ruth is survived by two sons, Tom and Mike (wife Evon), four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.  Her two brothers, Dick and Bob preceded her in death.

Ruth enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their lot on the Great Miami River for over 60 years and celebrating when a new water skier made it up the river.  She loved to share her homemade fudge and caramels with extended family and friends.

Ruth retired from the Sidney Daily News after many years as a typist and proofreader.

Ruth and Don enjoyed their motorhome travels throughout the United States, with snowbird winters spent in Arizona and Florida.

A combined memorial service for Ruth and Don is planned for Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at the Quincy United Methodist Church in Quincy, Ohio.

Burial will follow the memorial service at the Fairview Cemetery in Quincy.

The staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff, Ohio is honored to serve the Engelhaupt family.
