Ruth Kinney

Ruth Ann Kinney, 83, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 11:18 P.M. Friday, November 2, 2012 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.

She was born in Logan County Ohio November 4, 1928, to the late Forrest A. and Nellie L. Bishop Smith. On December 15, 1949, she married Dennis Paul “Peck” Kinney in Marysville, Ohio and he preceded her in death August 24, 2004.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Jean (John) Shambro of Marion, Ohio; her son, Larry L. (Jayne) Kinney of Lewistown, Ohio; six grandchildren, Richard (Melissa) Kinney, Samuel (Christine) Kinney, Melissa (Luke) Schwieterman, Chris (Ann) Shambro, Elizabeth (Keith) Pettis and Jennifer (Dwayne) Dockery; sixteen great grandchildren, Zachary, Cecelia and Natalie Shambro, Abigail, James Thomas and Katherine Pettis, Kamree, Kaylee and Kolton Dockery, Jackson Grimes, Franklin Kinney, Allison, Alexandra and Alivia Kinney, Lukas and Lacey Schwieterman; a sister, Alma Lou (Phil) Westfall of Marysville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, June Jolly and three brothers Neal, Donald and Robert Smith.

A Registered Nurse, she worked at Mary Rutan Hospital and with Dr. Firmin for many years. She attended the Belle Center United Methodist Church and was a member of the 500 Club as well as the bridge club.

Pastor Kevin Smith will conduct a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio. Following the service, the family would like to invite everyone to a thanksgiving meal at the Huntsville Event Center 6886 Wishart St. in Huntsville, Ohio.

The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
