Ruth L. Linker-Bixler, 93, of Bellefontaine passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Shelby County, Ohio on August 28, 1921 to the late Roy and Mary (Ambos) Linker. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Erma Leininger and Dorothy Crosley.
On June 7, 1941 she married Paul Franklin Bixler and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2003.
She is survived by her two sons, Max (Marjorie) Bixler of Bellefontaine and Bob (Vickki) Bixler of Sidney; three grandchildren, Andy (Kim) Bixler of Anna, Dr. Brian (Dr. Nicole) Bixler of Land O Lakes, Florida, and Michelle (Bryan) Child of Shaker Heights; nine great grandchildren, Bart, Hope & Blake Bixler, Garrett, Gavin & Hayley Child, and Avery, Ellory & Lily Bixler; and a niece and two nephews.
Ruth graduated from Anna High School in 1939. A homemaker and farmer’s wife, she was a life-long member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Ruth was also a member of the Miami Grange and a former member of the DeGraff Homemaker’s Club.
Pastor Michael Althauser will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
