Ruth L. Musser, age 86, of Jackson Center, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, June 20, 2014 at Auglaize Acres in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
She was born in Lakeview, Ohio October 13, 1927, to the late Paul L. and Minnie A. (Quedeweit) McGee. She married Malcolm E. “Pete” Musser December 16, 1950, and he preceded her in death November 25, 1979. She was also preceded in death by an infant son Stephen Musser and a sister, Irene Smith.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Ricki (Ed) Maxwell of Jackson Center, Dana (Michael) Bales of Wapakoneta, and Karen Allen of Columbus, Ohio; step-daughters, Lucille Stephens of California and Linda Stephens of Lima, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lindsey (James) Frye of Hilliard, Ohio, Jonathan Bales of Wapakoneta and Brandi (fiancé Roger Burke) Ricker of Columbus; six great-grandchildren, James, Alivea, Addison, Kaeden, Deklan and Joshua; a brother, Don (Viola Bishop) McGee of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth had been the company treasurer for Musser, Inc. and was a member of the Jackson Center United Methodist Church where she previously was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women. She also had been a part-time cook at Jackson Center High School.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ruth enjoyed sewing, doing craft projects, watching birds and spending time with her family. She was a past Worthy Matron of Eureka Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Ruth was also a member of the Shelby County Ladies Shrine Auxiliary, the Jackson Center Senior Citizens, the Jackson Center Sororis Club and had volunteered at FISH. In her spare time, she enjoyed golf, bowling and playing Bingo.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Jackson Center United Methodist Church and one hour prior to the memorial service at 10 A.M. conducted by Pastor Sylvia Hull Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Interment will be at the Willow Branch Cemetery in Waynesfield, Ohio.
The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center assisted the family with the arrangements.
