Ruth Walls

Ruth Ann Walls, 93, of DeGraff passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty. She was born in Barnesville, Ohio on July 29, 1921 to the late Clarence and Golda (Conard) Boyd.

On January 1, 1952 she married Leonard O. Walls in Amherst, Ohio, and he preceded her in death May 2, 1969.

She is survived by her two children; Terri (Wendell) Marratta of Urbana and Tim (Jennifer) Walls of DeGraff; six grandchildren, Matthew (Julie) Marratta of Bowling Green, Ashley (Faraon) Lopez of San Antonio, Texas, Eric Marratta of Killeen, Texas, Joel Marratta of Springfield, Olivia Huffman of Columbus and Lauren Huffman of DeGraff; two great grandchildren, Colin and Logan Marratta; a sister, Nancy (Tom) Murphy of Barnesville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Muskingum College and The Ohio State University, Ruth Ann was a member of the Logan County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the former Springhills Presbyterian Church, Rikmah Club and Fortnightly Music Club. Ruth Ann enjoyed golfing, bowling with the Breakfast Klub Bowling Group, and supporting the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Gene Marine and Pastor Bill Halter will officiate a graveside service at 12 noon on Saturday, January 17th at Southern Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
