Samuel Lee Hidinger, age 79, of West Liberty, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty. He was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania February 27, 1938, to the late Robert B. and Sophia (Harmon) Hidinger. Sam was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Peat and a brother, Robert E. Hidinger.
Sam is survived by his wife, Nancy (Hill) along with their three children, Deborah (Rick) Cole of West Liberty, Pamela (Herman) Fox of Paint Lick, Kentucky, and Richard (Julie) Hidinger of West Liberty; eight grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; a sister, Patsy Leadbetter and a brother, John Hidinger both of Pennsylvania.
Sam worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries in Crestline, Ohio for forty three years. He lived in Lexington, Ohio until moving to West Liberty in 2010. He was an avid woodworker who enjoyed making furniture and spending time with his family. A man of long-standing faith, Sam also enjoyed a love of the outdoors and a passion for astronomy.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
The family wishes to thank the kind and compassionate professionals at Green Hills who cared for him during his long illness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
