Sara Ellen Stoltzfus, 92, of West Liberty, passed away at 8: 32 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Aurora, Ohio on June 26, 1924 to the late Elmer and Orpha (Beechy) Stoltzfus. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Miller; and three brothers, Dwight, Robert and Gene Stoltzfus.
Sara is survived by two brothers, Edward Stoltzfus, and Glenn (Geneva) Stoltzfus; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sara was an educator her entire life. She taught 4 years in Burton, Ohio, 19 years at Adriel School in West Liberty, one year at Central Christian High School in Kidron, Ohio and 11 years at Indian Lake Middle School. After retirement she taught a Ladies Bible Study for 25 years.
Sara was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in West Liberty. She also volunteered many hours at Global Crafts and Green Hills Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Bethel Mennonite Church, 416 Washington Street, West Liberty. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery in Elkhart County, Indiana at a later date.
