Sarah Jeanette Hostetler, 89, of West Liberty, passed away at 3:13 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born in Champaign County, Ohio on October 16, 1926 to the late Samuel C. and Golda Ellen (Yoder) Plank. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Miller, her sister, Elizabeth Geil and her brother, Robert Plank.
On December 22, 2001 Sarah married David H. Hostetler and he survives, along with eight step-children, Linda Kulp, Keith Hostetler, Enid Schloneger, Kathy Schmucker, Amy Sharp, Bob Miller, Rex Miller and Don Miller; a sister, Mary Kay King; a brother, Sam (Mary Lou) Plank; a sister-in-law, Thelma Plank; and many nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to Sarah as “Grandma Sarah”.
Sarah had worked as Registered Nurse with Dr. Hooley for many years and was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in West Liberty. She always had a positive attitude and a gift of making people smile. She was a wonderful lady who was loved by all, and a friend to all.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23rd at the Bethel Mennonite Church, 416 Washington Street, West Liberty where visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery in West Liberty at a later date.
