Sarah Louise Regula, age 95, of Jackson Center, Ohio passed away at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at The Acres of Wapakoneta in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
She was born August 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Cliffton Joyce and Mildred Evelyn (Fogt) Steenrod.
On January 17, 1947, Sarah married Kenneth Eugene Regula in Jackson Center and he preceded her in death April 22, 2015. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael Regula and Terry Regula; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice (Dick) Burch, Naomi (Herbert) Wildermuth and Carol Ann Steenrod; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald (Jean) Steenrod and Robert Steenrod; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edison and Helen Regula, Robert “Jake” and Grace Zimpfer and John and June Davis.
Sarah is survived by two children, Rita (Don) Ware and Thomas (Judy) Regula, both of Jackson Center; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Regula of Jackson Center; eight grandchildren, Jason Ware, Robyn (Mike) Sturgeon, Joshua (Amy) Ware, Christopher (Amber) Regula, Mark (Tracey) Regula, Julie (Darrel) Klopfenstein, Brian (Leslie) Regula and Michelle (Patrick) Shuff; nineteen great grandchildren, Taylor Ware, Kaden Ware, Trey Ware, Sarah Ware, Jacob Ware, Austin Ware, Katelyn Sturgeon, Samantha Sturgeon, Emma Regula, Abigail Regula, Marcey Regula, Angela Regula, Macy Klopfenstein, Carter Klopfenstein, Cason Regula, Mia Regula, Jax Shuff, Rocco Shuff and Bellamy Rae Shuff; two brothers, Larry (Jean) Steenrod and Jerry (Barb) Steenrod; a sister-in-law, Lois Steenrod Croson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sarah graduated from Lewistown High School in 1943 and the Bethesda School of Nursing in 1946. She worked as a registered nurse at Wilson Memorial Hospital, the Shelby County Health Department and later retired as Director of Nurses for the Logan County Health Department. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be at the Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio. In adherence to COVID-19 restrictions, guests in attendance will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
