Severiana Maria “Ann” Houchin, age 81, of Belle Center, Ohio passed away Sunday evening, September 24, 2017 at her residence.

She was born April 9, 1936, in Lumberton, New Mexico to the late Presentacion and Angelina (Velasquez) Herrera.  Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Tersina “Tessie” Lobato, Antonio “Tony”, Jose “Delfin”, Presentacion “Pres” and Gilbert Herrera.

On March 21, 1955, in Lumberton, New Mexico she married Gerald N. Houchin.  He survives along with their children, Kathy (Chris) Fulkerson of Huntsville, Ohio, Susan (Tim) O’Rielley of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Gary (Lisa) Houchin, Tony (Tammy) Houchin, both of Belle Center, and Diane (Mark Coleman) Houchin of Huntsville; grandchildren, Andy (Amanda) Fulkerson, Nicole Fulkerson, Jill (Matt) Meighan, Becky O’Rielley, Kasi, Shane and Taylor Quay, Eric (Kiersten Thornton) Houchin, Tasha Ganson, Jodi (Barry) Cooper, Billi (Matt) Hurley, Rachelle (Ben) Ruth, Somer (Rusty) Barnthouse, Jason Givens, Joshua and Cheyenne Burgess and Kylinn and Mason Coleman; eighteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marina (Cletus) Thaxton, Louisa (Frank) Lotrich, Dennis (Vangie) Herrera and Orlando Herrera; sisters-in-law, Pat Herrera, Stella Herrera and Lillian Houchin; brothers-in-law, Nester Lobato and Donald (Linda) Houchin; a very close cousin, Maggie and Don Salyers; her caring nurse, Pennie Oswalt and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

A member of the St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, Ohio Ann also attended the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine.  She was a member of the Russells Point C.L. of C., the Belle Center Willard Stout Post #266 Ladies American Legion Auxiliary and Kings Daughters.  She loved to play BINGO and was a big Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Univertisty Buckeye's basketball fan.  She loved family gatherings and being a big supporter of her grandchildren. She loved going to watch them at their sporting events and school activities.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 P.M. Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center.  Father Shawn Landenwitch will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
