Shan Mary Neer, 66, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born in Weston-super-Mare, England May 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Arthur A. and Peggy G. (Prewer) Patrick. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Dwight and Ida Neer.
She is survived by her husband, Philip L. Neer, whom she married March 11, 1967 in Indianapolis, Indiana; her six children, Margaret Anne (Rodney) Hager, Stephen Anthony (Surena) Neer, Patrick Philip (Michelle) Neer, all of West Liberty, Jennifer Lee (Linn) Kropf of Nampa, Idaho, David Alexander (Kathryn) Neer and Jessica Lynn Neer, both of West Liberty; a brother, Michael (Sandie) Patrick of Niles, Michigan; a sister, Lisa (Robert) Schroeder of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Grace (Jacob) Leichty and Lois (Jerry) Coons, both of West Liberty; a brother-in-law, Richard (Esther) Neer of Xenia, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, Ashley and Becca Hager, Laura, Courtney, Brittany, and Daniel Neer, Rose, Renee, Rachael Neer, Emmy, Brooke, Tyler Kropf and Levi Neer, and sixteen nieces and nephews.
After graduation from high school, Shan attend college and later with her husband, farmed in Champaign County. She was a longtime member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty and had been active with the Home Extension Club. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, traveling, but most of all, she valued her time spent with her family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty officiated by Pastor Dick Barrett. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the church. A private interment will be held at the Oak Grove Mennonite Cemetery in Champaign County Ohio.
