Shannan Christine Casey

Shannan Christine Casey of Bellefontaine went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, following her fight with lymphoma. 

Shannan was born in Bellefontaine on February 2, 1972, to Douglas Casey and Roxan Varner Casey, who survive her.  Shannan is also survived by her children, Ashley (Wendi) Garrison, of DeGraff, Shane (Constance) Wilcoxon of Florence, SC, and Skyler Kennedy, of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, Ethan Gilliard and Harmony and Greyson Wilcoxon, and two foster grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings, Stephanie (Justin) Warner, Douglas Casey, Jr., and Kyle (Tabitha) Casey, and her nieces and nephews, Javon, Makayla and Hunter Warner, Camryn and Madisyn Casey, Alek and Madelyn Winner and Brightyn Casey, and her stepmother, Christine Casey.   Shannan also has many aunts, uncles and cousins whom she dearly loved and who love her.  She is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Kennedy.

Shannan was a 1990 Bellefontaine High School graduate. She worked at a few jobs in her twenties to support her family.  However, she found her work home at thirty with Honda Security through Acrux Investigation Agency, and later Genric Security Services where she was employed until her passing.  Shannan had such a passion for her work and her work friends, and they loved her as much as she loved them. 

Shannan enjoyed reading, taking pictures and capturing the moment, shopping on Amazon, history, genealogy, decorating her home that she loved and worked so hard to purchase, and her adventures with her best friend, Shelly Voll.  Shannan was selfless and took such thought and care into really knowing people and making them feel special.  Spending time with her children and grandchildren was Shannan’s greatest joy.  She loved being a mommy and mimi above all else.

Shannan accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age.  She expressed her love for Jesus several times during her cancer fight and we know she is now looking at Him face to face.  For that, her family celebrates beyond the mourning.

Pastor Eric Cook will officiate a funeral service at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, 624 Township Road 55, Bellefontaine, Ohio, where visitation will be Sunday, September 18, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Burial will be in the Bellefontaine Cemetery following the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County Cancer Society, c/o Mary Rutan Foundations, 205 Palmer Avenue, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
