Shawn E. Griffith

Shawn E. Griffith, 45, of Lewistown, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio December 15, 1971, the son of the late James W. Griffith and Elizabeth J. (Francis) Graybill.

On August 27, 2005, he married Sherry L. (Young) Griffith and she survives as well as three children, Shawn J. Griffith of Sidney, Ohio, Nathaniel E. Griffith of Bellefontaine, and Jamie L. Young-Griffith of Lewistown; one sister, Tonya J. (Mike Sexton) Griffith of Washington, Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Brandon S. Frost of Lakeview, Ohio, Thomas R. King and William L. King, both of Bellefontaine, Jeff (Sandra) Young of Russells Point, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, Skylinia, Destiny, Rose, James, Ashley, and Alexis; his mother-in-law, Gloria Young of Lakeview, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Debbie King of Bellefontaine, Loretta Young of Huntsville, Ohio, Shirley Young of Russells Point, Ohio; his very close friends, Kim and Murl Clark of Huntsville; his favorite dog, Bear Bear and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shawn served in the United States Army Reserves serving two tours.  He loved NASCAR and racing, and loved going to Eldora Speedway with his family.  He enjoyed being outside and working in the yard.  He was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Miami Dolphins.  He was a kind-hearted and hard-working man who always was willing to help others.

Pastor Eddie Gibson will officiate the funeral service Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 4:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center 321 N. Main St. in Bellefontaine where visitation will be two hours prior to the service.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 24, 2017 in the Huntsville Cemetery.  Military rites will be performed by the Logan County Veteran's Honor Guard.
