Shirley Smith Ringler Blazer, 88, of Bellefontaine and formerly of Leesburg, Florida passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Friendship Village in Columbus, OH.
She was born October 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Warren and Tabitha (Jones) Smith. She married Willis ‘Babe’ Ringler and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1981 and she later married Marion Blazer and he preceded her in death in September of 2006. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Delores Lynn Ringler Moore, an infant brother, Carl Cyrus Smith and her brother, Laird Smith.
She is survived by her son, William (Sharon) Ringler of Bellefontaine, two daughters; Stephanie Anne Butler and Valerie Jean Parish, both of Columbus; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a son-in-law, Jim Moore of Columbus, a sister-in-law, Betty Smith of Mary Esther, FL, two nieces and two nephews.
Shirley was a 1944 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and worked as a bookkeeper for L.M. Stupp Furniture for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Bellefontaine and had served as treasurer of the Directors of the Bonfire Mobile Home Park in Leesburg, FL.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 in Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine with Gene Marine officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery near Mt. Victory.
