Shirley Carpenter

Biography

Shirley June Carpenter, 75, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was born October 27, 1937 in Champaign County Ohio to the late Dorothy L. Acker.

She was married to Richard J. Carpenter from 1961 to 1977, and he preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Lynn Carpenter October 22, 2011.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Autumn Whitt of Clintwood, Virginia and Kellie Carpenter of Florida; two great grandsons of Clintwood, Virginia; nieces, Doris Keith, whom was by her side at her time of death, and Mary Jane Hatfield both of Huntsville, Ohio; a nephew, Pete Hatfield of Anna, Ohio, and several other nieces and nephews, family and friends.

A homemaker and a resident at Logan Acres for fifteen years, she had previously attended the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzle books, watching Animal Planet on television and going for rides with family and friends.

Pastor Greg Haisley will officiate the 1:00 P.M. funeral service Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday, March 14, 2013.

Interment will be at the Kingscreek Cemetery in Champaign County.
